Melissa Wyatt is an experienced event planning and client service professional with more than a decade of experience in recreation, event coordination, and guest experience management. Since 2013, she has designed and coordinated programs, special events, and recreational activities for diverse populations, developing a strong foundation in organization, logistics, communication, and exceptional customer service.

Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sports Management with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Tennessee. Throughout her career, she has worked in community recreation, behavioral and mental health facilities, assisted living communities, schools, camps, municipal recreation departments, and private event planning. Her work has consistently been guided by the principles of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and creating meaningful experiences for participants and guests alike.

In addition to her professional experience, Melissa has dedicated many years to volunteer service, including working with Special Olympics Tennessee, where she supported programs and events that promoted inclusion, empowerment, and community engagement for individuals with disabilities. These experiences have strengthened her ability to anticipate client needs, adapt to changing situations, and ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued.

As Event Coordinator & Client Experience Lead for Applause Design & Events, Melissa serves as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the planning process. She oversees venue and vendor coordination, event logistics, timelines, décor and supply management, and onsite event execution, ensuring every detail comes together seamlessly. Her calm demeanor, strong organizational skills, and dedication to outstanding customer service help transform each client’s vision into a memorable and stress-free event experience.

Melissa is passionate about making the planning process enjoyable from beginning to end. She believes every client deserves to feel confident, supported, and excited throughout their event journey, allowing them to fully enjoy their celebration while Applause takes care of every detail.
